Jackie and Stacey talk about how tall tales, wives tales, fables, myths, and creepy stories are woven throughout the histories of all communities world wide. Your grandma may have taught you to tell the truth through the story of the boy who cried wolf. Your neighbor may pass a lil' judgement your way because they think things "should" be done a certain way - based on the stories they have been told through cultural stories. This topic of STORYTELLING gets a personal touch when Stacey tells of a famous "Elmer" in her childhood. Join us!

In Episode 47 of The Jackie and Stacey Show, we discuss STORYTELLING! Jackie seems to think she is not a storyteller. However, you can see that this episode is a little long... because Jackie told a long story! Turns out we all have stories: ones that we tell, ones we keep inside, and others that we tell ourselves about our interactions in the world. Totally fascinating. Join us as we talk and discover the impact of these stories within ourselves.

NEW/MONTHLY topic: CREATIVITY

Starting this month, we are ssslllooooowing our roll. Due to some new listener feedback, the amount of episodes we have published was a little intimidating! Our slower roll is going to look like this: instead of a new topic every week, we are going to switch to a new topic each month. I guess you could say we are practicing being CREATIVE in our approach to podcasting?! 

Perfect segue!

In Episode 46 of The Jackie and Stacey Show, we discuss how we are CREATIVELY making a few changes around here! You gave us feedback, and we are listening:

First, the sound on this slapstick podcast sure ain't perfect. We promised you that we live like we talk: try now, and fix later! Well, it is later. Today we tried out a great sound booth - Stacey's closet. How did it work?

Second, we got CREATIVE by both recording the audio for this podcast AND going Facebook LIVE at the same time. Do we make any sense? Or did we refer to visual things too much?

Lastly, this month was our slower roll out of each topic/lens. Did you like it? We did! This was a great month for us to slow down our recording. We hope you enjoyed the break as much as we did.

Y'all! To be honest...This topic did not appeal at all when we started on it. I just am not initially drawn to the idea of creativity. But after we started the conversation, I LOVED it!!! And I have learned so much already.

This week we discuss creativity in our closest relationships...How do the two impact each other, if at all?!

Stacey talks about how creativity is really problem-solving, open-mindedness, and life-giving. Wha?!?! Who knew?

And I (Jackie) talk about a parenting philosophy I probably learned from one of you (If so, remind me!) that has really made a difference in the life of our family.

Listen in to hear about how creativity requires vulnerability, which is essential for growth in our closest relationships. Good, good stuff.
